Hot Product - Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein

It's been a long time since I have featured a Hot Product on here Healthy Boy. I get sent numerous products each week and get contacted by various companies to promote their products on my blog but I will only promote the products I use and believe in, and quite frankly I haven't come across anything lately that I would recommend to my readers. However after the popularity of the last two products I featured (Silica Gel and PB2) resulting in them being sold out, and countless emails from you all telling me how much they love them and wanting to know what else I can recommend, I have decided to promote another favorite product of mine, and one I have been using for a couple of years - Optimum Nutrition Protein Powder. The good news? They also ship internationally.

This protein is probably doesn't come as a news flash to you, as I know a lot of people already use it - it is the top selling product on bodybuilding.com and you can buy it by the tub load at GNC, Vitamin Shoppe and most health food stores, but the flavor that I use and recommend is not normally found at stores, and can pretty much be only found online, and is the favorite flavor that I love...Extreme Milk Chocolate. Hmmmm, sounds good right? It is.

It is like a candy bar in a shake (with none of the fat and calories of course) and if you couple it with some PB2 or some peanut butter, you have an excellent post workout shake that will satisfy your muscles and your taste buds.

Optimum Nutrition's protein recently won supplement of the year and protein powder of the year five years in a row, and has an exclusive proprietary blend of:

- Micro-filtered Whey Protein Isolates
- Ion-Exchange Whey Protein Isolates
- Ultra-filtered Whey Protein Concentrate
- HydroWhey Hydrolyzed Whey Peptides

It gives you more of what you want (pure, unadulterated whey protein) with less of what you don't (fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, lactose, and other carbohydrates).

It contains whey protein isolate - the purest and most expensive source of whey protein, as well as glutamine and other BCAAs that are needed for muscle recovery and growth.

The good news is that it comes in multiple sizes at bodybuilding.com. Extreme Milk Chocolate comes in a 1lb size for only $11.99 if you want to give it a try, or for the regular gym bunnies they also offer it in 2lbs for $21.99 and 5lbs for $42.99. My 5lb tub lasts me for months, its huge.

If you are not a chocolate fan, it comes in many other flavors, but I haven't tried many of them (I've always been a choco-holic). So if you buy another flavor and don't like it, don't be sending me any hate mail. But it's a safe bet that most of their flavors would taste as good.

I prefer bodybuilding.com over other suppliers because they are the cheapest, it gets shipped to you quickly and safely, and they have a ton of other products as well as some great free health and fitness articles. They also ship internationally at a really low price. So for my Aussie readers, who are currently paying over $80 for a tub of protein, you can see that this is a good deal.

For my regular readers, you know that I never recommend protein shakes over whole foods. If you are consuming protein shakes for breakfast or as meal replacements throughout the day, it could be causing you to gain weight due it being absorbed by your body rapidly and not having the same thermic effect of whole foods. The only time I recommend consuming a protein shake is after you have just worked out, and you need to replenish your muscles with glycogen, BCAAs and calories to help them recover and grow. If you aren't working out (you should be) then save your money and buy whole nutritious food to get your protein, such as eggs and meat.

You can buy Optimum Nutrition protein here.

Enjoy

Healthy Boy x
